Overview of Sunny Rest (www.sunnyrest.com)

The disappointing thing about nudist resorts north of the Mason-Dixon is that most of them close down (or may as well) around the middle of September. Before you write to tell me that I’m all wrong, I’ll concede that there are SOME northern resorts that remain open and active during the winter months (but not many).

So, with autumn approaching more quickly than any sane person would like, this is the time to squeak in a visit to one of many beautiful north country naturist resorts. One such resort, just a weekend trip from Michigan, is Sunny Rest Resort, located in the Pocono Mountains of eastern Pennsylvania.

While they close in mid-September, the events at the resort are in full swing until that time. The grounds are lovely – well-kept and ample – and the people friendly. Sunny Rest caters to families and draws from the Philadelphia area just two hours away.

The resort has existed since 1945 and has grown and improved steadily since. There is a beautiful 30’ x 60’ heated pool, camping facilities, motel-type lodging and a full service restaurant and pool bar.

While clothing-optional is the philosophy of the resort, nudity is required in water areas. So, pack lightly, and enjoy your time and this lovely getaway.
