Michael Jackson's will clearly states that he wants his daughter and two sons to be taken care of by Diana Ross if anything prevents his mother Katherine from doing so.
His will states;
"If any of my children are minors at the time of my death, I nominate my mother, Katherine Jackson as guardian of the persons and estates of such minor children."
"If Katherine Jackson fails to survive me, or is unable or unwilling to act as guardian, I nominate Diana Ross as guardian of the persons and estates of such minor children."
It's unclear if this was a surprise to Diana Ross or if Michael Jackson had ever approached her about the responsibility beforehand.

Michael's mother Katherine Jackson has been granted temporary custody of the three children, "Prince" Michael Joseph Jackson Jr., Paris Michael Katherine Jackson and Prince "Blanket" Michael Jackson II.
Diana Ross is planning on attending the funeral of Jackson. The family has not announced the time for any memorial, though sources have suggested it could occur Friday.
