The sinks at Chifa
Design is about inspiration, about inspiring and being inspired. As a designer I am always looking for inspiration, how do materials work together, what looks better than good together, what is beautiful, thought provoking, or entertaining.
Many of the new and upscale restaurants have been designed by a boutique design firm. This same boutique design firm has also designed the bathroom. Admittedly some of these bathroom designs are out of the box. These Bathrooms can elevate vanity to an art form, allowing passersby to watch by means of a one way mirror, people at the bathroom sink wash their hands , fix their hair and touch up there makeup .Or the restaurant where a one way mirror allows you to look into the dining room while sitting on a toilet, praying that the dining room isn’t looking in on you.
While these bathroom designs are more about entertainment, restaurant bathrooms can also be an excellent source of inspiration. The beauty of the restaurant bathroom is that you can see a designers materials working together up close and personal.
