You cannot buy the wonder and amazement on this child's face.

The summer is a great time to load up the family and head to the water. Children love to catch fish and that is one of the keys to creating the next generation of outdoor aficionados. In order to hook them for life a father or mother's job is to make sure they catch fish and lots of them. The best way to do that is to go light. Using light tackle turns the common bluegill into a formidable adversary, science project, and all around mystery for a child. As a parent you get to be the one who introduces this marvel to them and nurture an activity that can be enjoyed for a lifetime.

Ultralights are rods and reels that are designed to catch small fish. An ultralight rod along with a spinning reel is easy to use and with a little care will last a lifetime. These fish can be caught anywhere the body of water stays year round.

So this summer when you head out to the lake take a little time to update your fishing license, pack that ultralight, and a box of worms. Set out a couple of lawn chairs. Throw out the poles and watch your children's face light up in anticipation. Nothing beats watching your children smile while participating in an activity. This is why the business of youth sports bring in millions each year. This is one that you can share with them for a lifetime.
