The City premiere kicked off with its new season on Tuesday night and Whitney kicked off her new job. She had gone back to work for old boss Kelly at People’s Revolution for a few hours every day. The rest of the day she will spend working on her own line and Kelly will mentor her through the stages. Kelly also gave Whitney’s friend a shot at an interview at People’s Revolution. Roxy, the newcomer has known Whitney since they were in 7th grade but makes a point to let Kelly and everyone else know that she is nothing like Whitney. After her interview with Kelly, Roxy meets Whitney for lunch. Both girls were excited that she was in the city, but little did Whitney know that Roxy had not found a place to live and would be crashing on Whitney’s couch for a while.
After she agreed, Whitney took Roxy back to her apartment. Roxy could not get over how very Whitney the place was, but they would definitely need to have a party. Roxy’s mention of 50 people made Whitney a little nervous and agreed to have maybe 10 or so. She was afraid that she would be kicked out of her new apartment; she had already been in trouble for having her music too loud.
On the other end of the city, Olivia was brought in by Elle Magazine to see if she would want a shot with the magazine; a spot had just opened up in their accessory department. Olivia was so thrilled to have received an opportunity but her new boss, Erin felt differently. She did not like Olivia’s attitude from the beginning and immediately put Olivia up to her first challenge. Erin let her know that Elle was getting ready to shoot a segment for the Today Show and she would have to find bargain pieces and put together a few different outfits, most importantly the pool party outfit for under $25.
The next day Whitney meets with her boss, Kelly to discuss Roxy. Kelly agreed to give Roxy a chance with the company but wanted to make sure Whitney knew what she was doing by letting Roxy move in with her. Whitney assured Kelly that everything was fine, but Kelly said that she just hoped at the end of everything she did for her friends that they would treat her as nice as Whitney’s treated them. Whitney looked as if she appreciated Kelly looking over her, but she had to get home for the party that Roxy was throwing at her apartment. When she arrived Whitney was shocked by the amount of noise and the amount of people in her place and not long after the police arrived. Whitney told Roxy she would have to deal with it because she had invited everyone. There was not much she could do so Roxy had to end the party.
Back at Elle, Erin went to see how Olivia was doing with her challenge. When Erin realized that Olivia had failed to do what was asked of her she got upset. Erin explained to Olivia that it was her job to figure out, but Erin disagreed. She immediately snapped and started talking back to Erin and told her that it was an impossible task. Erin could not believe that Olivia was speaking to her like that; she said it was inappropriate and that she had never been spoken to that way. The pool party outfit for the Today Show segment turned out to be a fail in the eyes of the Elle heads and it seemed Olivia realized that she disappointed people. She did not even wait for feedback and left quickly after the segment aired. It was a new job and Olivia needed to figure out.
