As Kristin and Justin’s romance continues to heat up The Hills, the group gets ready to celebrate Brody’s birthday. While shopping for birthday presents with Stacie, Kristin tells her how she thought Brody was so vanilla when they dated, especially in bed. She thought it would be a great birthday present and also helping him out by buying him the latest bedroom toys for him and his current girlfriend to spice things up.
After shopping and back at Kristin’s beachfront Malibu house, Justin joined her for a little surfing while Kristin watched from the beach. When he was finished they headed to the deck for some R&R where Justin asks if she likes his not so subtle tattoo. This is not a little tribal band around his arm; this is a tattoo of the word ‘Italia’ across his stomach in a 2Pac ‘Thug Life’ fashion. With no direct answer, she just smiles, giggles and ask ‘haha did that hurt?’ As the conversation continued into how they will be attending Brody’s party, ‘maybe we could go together,’ Kristin says. With no response, Justin just smiles.
In the meantime, Stephanie joins Audrina for a mani/pedi and tells her that it is time for Audrina to start going out, again. Audrina agreed and tells Stephanie that she kind of, sort of has a date for lunch the next day. When Stephanie asks with whom she is going to lunch with, Audrina just says it was one of Justin’s friends, Derek, at least that’s how they met, but she makes sure to state that they are friends, too. Stephanie weary about her reasoning for this lunch makes sure she is not just doing this to get back at Justin. Audrina assures her that it is not, but for some reason people always thought that her and Derek have hooked up in the past, but she just does not know why. She tells Stephanie, this is just her way of moving on, obviously Justin has.
Come Brody’s party, the gang all arrives, Kristin makes a noticeable entrance sans Justin, and the girls all gather to talk about her. She headed straight for Brody, his mom – who appears to really like her, and Brody’s girlfriend Jayde. Jayde, however did not appear quite as excited for arrival as Brody and his mom did. After saying her hellos, Stephanie and Lo saw their chance to corner her and ask if she and Justin were together, she of course responds yes, and they immediately want to know where he is. She just responded with a shrug and ‘oh he’ll be here.’ The party continues with a balloon fight where Brody or Jayde ‘accidently’ decked Kristin in the face with one. Everyone had a great laugh and although embarrassed she tried to brush it off as if nothing happened. When Brody came over to apologize, he asked the question everyone was asking, ‘Kristin, where’s your man?’
It did not take too long before it was time to open presents and Kristin insisted that he open her gift first. Not too shocked by the bevy of toys, he just laughs and thanks her. Meanwhile in the background Jayde tells her plans of how she will be using them on Brody, but Brody insists that he is in charge and that she will be wearing his new collar and whip on her. Everyone just laughs, but Jayde who was noticeably annoyed about what was going on, just rolled her eyes.
Audrina who was absent from the party enjoyed her lunch with Derek. When he picked her up, Derek immediately asked Audrina if she had told Justin they were going out to lunch, she responded with an instant no, and Derek just laughed and said he didn’t either. Audrina then sets the standards for their ‘date’ and that there will be not Justin talk for the rest of the day.
Spencer – who was also absent from the party hung out at his house and had a friend over. He continued to complain about the on-going argument in his household. He cannot stand it that Heidi wants kids and he doesn’t, he just does not understand her problem. Spencer’s friend’s great advice was to stop the talk of kids now before it gets out of hand. Later on that night Spencer, donning a cowboy hat and Heidi head to dinner. The topic of kids comes up yet again, and Heidi remarks that he knew what he was getting into when he married her. He said actually he didn’t know, because he never knew she wanted to have kids before they were married. And Heidi comes back with the bright response of, ‘Yes I did, you just didn’t know it, yet.'
Back at the party, the day comes to an end, but not completely. Kristin says her goodbyes and tells everyone that she will be having an after-party at her new Malibu pad. When she told Brody, Jayde was not too thrilled about the idea at all; she wanted Brody to herself and go out for a birthday dinner. Brody was very much against the idea and guaranteed Kristin his presence at her house.
Kristin and the girls continue to party at her house and wait for the guys to arrive. While they were waiting, Stephanie and Stacie want to know why Justin did not show and she just answered, ‘I don’t really know.’ Just in time, Brody and his crew roll in, not including Jayde. He told Kristin that he made her stay home because she was being such a pain. Kristin spoke with Brody on how it must be hard for her because his family loves her so much, especially his mom who is ‘Team Kristin.’
The next day everyone was recovering from their night before, and Audrina heads over to Stephanie’s. Audrina began to dish on her date with Derek and appeared to be genuinely happy on how it went. Stephanie could not hold it in too long, because she blurted out how Justin stood up Kristin at Brody’s party. With a slight smirk, Audrina says that she is not surprised; it is not like he has not done this before Kristin.
In Malibu, Kristin wakes up to find her house a mess and Stacie on her couch the next morning. They gab about their evening and talk about how Jayde did not show up to the after-part. Stacie said that Jayde probably hates Kristin because his whole family loves her. Kristin smiled, gave a semi-laugh and a semi-nod of agreement. Stacie then asked if she was pissed Justin didn’t show. Kristin said she was and says that he may have pulled this with Audrina, but no way will he pull this with her. She won’t wait around for Justin, like Audrina did.
