Governor Janet Napolitano (D - Arizona) turned 51 on Saturday, but will get a whopper of a belated birthday present this morning from President-elect Barack Obama.

Napolitano will appear at a news conference in Chicago with Obama this morning, where the President-elect will announce that he is placing her name into nomination for Secretary of Homeland Security.  If confirmed, Napolitano will become the first woman ever to hold the post.

That's certainly a birthday present worth waiting for.

Obama's press conference is schedued for 10:40 a.m.
