Three days after Mark Green became the latest candidate to enter the crowded 2009 Democratic Primary for Public Advocate, the first candidate to enter the race announced the endorsement of two NYPD unions.

Queens City Council Member Eric N. Gioia today announced that the Sergeants Benevolent Association and the Captains Endowment Association had become the first law enforcement unions to announce their support of a candidate ib the race for the city's second highest office.
