Queens Council Member Eric N. Gioia, a Democratic candidate for New York City Public Advocate this evening vowed to hold events in all five boroughs.
While to date most citywide candidates' campaign events (including Gioia's) have been in Manhattan and sometimes in their home borough, making Gioia the first candidate for citywide office to publicly pledge to hold events in all five boroughs.
Gioia, in an invitation to a New Year's event later this week wrote in part:
If you can't be there on the 8th, we are hosting events in all five boroughs. Please contact the campaign office at 212-370-0700 or email teamgioia@ericgioia.com to find out about the event closest to you.
As you know, Eric believes deeply that if we are going to change government, we must first change politics, and that begins with changing the way we run campaigns. That's why we're running a very different type of campaign. In addition to running the City's first ever carbon-neutral, green campaign, we're running a personal, grassroots campaign that goes neighborhood to neighborhood, and block to block, reaching New Yorkers in their homes and on their stoops.
Eric is committed to opening up the political process, like all of his events give whatever you can even if it is $10. Jake's Dilemma will be featuring free food and open bar, so it's sure to be a good time. You can RSVP and contribute online at www.ericgioia.com.
