'Rush is Un-American' going too far?

Earlier today I reported on the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee's petition protesting conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh's recent on-air remark regarding President Barack Obama, in which he said, "I hope he fails!"'

And while I don't really see the point of the petition, if it makes people feel better, fine. 

In my own opinion, if you don't like what Rush Limbaugh says, there's a very simple solution - just don't listen to his show.

But a Facebook group invitation that I just received from Erica Contreras, the Chairperson of the Young Democrats of America's Minority Caucus to join the Facebook group "Rush is Un-American."

The group's description reads, "Anyone who wants the President to fail is basically stating he/she wants America to fail"

While I probably disagree with Limbaugh's statement, we don't know the context in which it was made and regardless calling him "Un-American" is going way too far!

I always thought that it was Democrats who were always running around, yelling about the First Amendment and free speech.  I guess that only applies when it's speech that they agree with!
