An exclusive NY1 poll shows that while Mayor Bloomberg’s popularity rating remains high, one of his Democratic challengers, Rep. Anthony Weiner, is within striking distance in the mayoral race.
The poll shows that in a hypothetical head-to-head matchup, Bloomberg gets 43% support of those polled compares to 36% for Weiner.
Weiner also leads City Comptroller Bill Thompson in the Democratic primary race – 31% to 22%. Bloomberg leads Thompson in a head-to-head matchup – 45% to 32%.
Bloomberg’s job approval rating remains high at 64%.
