You can call or click your way into Friday's ceremony honoring The New York Yankees victory in the World Series this afternoon, New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg announced this morning.
Not since the New York Giants 2008 Super Bowl win has there been a parade down the Canyon of Heroes or a presentation of keys to the city to a sports team, but all that will change tomorrow, during a ceremony at City Hall. While the parade is open to the public, tickets will be required to attend the ceremony. Those attending the ceremony will NOT be able to view the parade.
The city will conduct a public giveaway for 500 tickets to the ceremony this afternoon from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.. The public may request tickets at www.nyc.gov/parade or by calling 311. . Entrants must be at least 18 years-old, may only enter once and request two tickets, and will be asked to give their name, E-mail address and phone number in order to enter.
Additional tickets will be distributed to the public by Members of the City Council and other City elected officials, community organizations that work in partnership with the Mayor’s Community Affairs Unit in all five boroughs.
There are no tickets or passes to any portion of the parade, and any such offers are fake. Ceremony tickets are not for resale. If you are aware of any tickets or passes being sold, please report them by callingl 311.
