It's like a carnival here at the Sheraton New York Towers in Manhattan where more than 2,500 supporters are expected turn out in support of incumbent Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg in his bid for a third term against Democratic rival William C. Thompson.
A band is playing and pizza, chicken fingers and hot dogs are being munched on by the growing crowd.
Bloomberg has spent a record $100 million dollars on this election. If he wins he'd only be the fourth mayor to serve more than two terms. Polls have shown Bloomberg with a substantial lead over Thompson, but with light turnout reported across the city, the race could go either way.
Polls close at 9 p.m.
