NY Gov. David A. Paterson (D)
MICHAEL A. HARRIS/THE EXAMINER

New York Governor David A. Paterson (D) and First Lady Michelle Paige Paterson plan to continue the New Year’s Day tradition of opening the doors of the Executive Mansion to the public.

The tradition was started by former Democratic Governor Eliot Spitzer, who resigned in 2007 amid a scandal.

Tickets to the open house will be made available to interested New Yorkers who register on the internet. In the event that the number of requests exceeds the number of available openings, attendees will be randomly selected by lottery. Registration ends December 29th at 5pm.

The Executive Mansion Open House will be held from 11:00AM to 1:00 PM on January 1, 2009 and registrants will be notified of their selection via E-mail on December 30th and receive a ticket at that time.

Each individual receiving a ticket will be allowed to bring a guest and any children from their household. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

No cameras will be permitted.
