At a news conference in Chicago Monday morning, Senator Hillary Clinton (D - New York) will accept a new title - Secretary of State-designee, but that appointment, the second Obama cainet post going to a New Yorker, could cost the people of New York State, according to a report in Sunday's Daily News.

The Daily News reported:

Hillary Clinton passed on becoming boss of the superpowerful Senate Appropriations Committee to pursue the more prestigious secretary of state job with President-elect Barack Obama, the Daily News has learned.

As chairwoman of the panel that controls the nation's purse strings, Clinton could have pumped billions in federal dollars into the Empire State.

Once Senator Clinton tenders her resignation, New York's Democratic Governor, David A. Paterson will appoint a replacement to fill her seat.

Do you think that Clinton made the right choice accepting the Secretary of State post over that of Chairperson of the Senate Appropriations Committee , potentially costing New York bilions of dollars?
