Starting Thursday, July 9th, and continuing through August 9th, the Acne store at 10 Greene Street in Soho will be having a sample sale. Ready-to-wear (off the rack clothing), jeans, shoes, and accessories will be up to 50 percent off.
Acne, or “Ambition to Create Novel Expression,” was founded in 1996 in Sweden. Although the brand is best known for their high-quality denim jeans, in an interview with coolhunting.com, Acne’s creative director Jonny Johansson said that they are trying to “design as a lifestyle in general.” Acne seems to be doing just that. In the past few years, the brand has branched out into photography, film, architecture, home-décor, and a magazine, Acne Paper.
Acne has a really nice variety of clothing. Even though it is a European brand, the cut of the clothes does not look distinctly European. They do have skinny jeans and pants, but they also have looser styles. And for a European fashion line, the prices are pretty reasonable. On their website you can purchase a suit jacket and trousers for under $450.
The sale is definitely something that you should check out. The Acne store is open Monday through Saturday from 11-7, and Sunday from noon to 7. Check out the links below to look at Acne’s online store, and to get other guys’ opinions on the brand.
