A 2-2 start isn't stunning, but there's still a LOT of football to be played. The Cardinals have only played one divisional opponent up until this weekend, so let's take a look at the road ahead and where the Cardinals should end up if they play the kind of football we all expect them to play.
Week 6 (away) - Seattle Seahawks
The Seahawks have had Arizona's number up until recently and the easy answer here is to give each team one game. But I don't think the Seahawks are healthy enough to keep up in either game. I give Arizona both.
Record: 3-2
Week 7 (away) - NY Giants
Unless Eli Manning's turf toe eats his entire foot, the Cardinals will have their hands full - this game goes to the Giants.
Record: 3-3
Week 8 (home) - Carolina Panthers
Jake DelHomme throws another 5 picks and Cardinals fans laugh him out of University of Phoenix Stadium.
Record: 4-3
Week 9 (away) - Chicago Bears
If Cutler continues his MVP-like season, the Cardinals defense is in for a very long game, and if Chicago fans are still as crazy as the Chicago weather, this could be a long game for the offense, too. Cardinals drop this one in a close one.
Record: 4-4
Week 10 (home) - Seattle Seahawks
Record: 5-4
Week 11 (away) - St. Louis Rams
Well, if the Rams get a new quarterback, offensive line, defensive line, and secondary by the time week 11 rolls around, they might have a chance. Umm, I don't think so...
Record: 6-4
Week 12 (away) - Tennessee Titans
Four weeks ago, I would have said this was one of the Cardinals toughest games of the season. Now, I'm chalking it up as a for-sure win.
Record: 7-4
Week 13 (home) - Minnesota Vikings
This should be a very competitive game, especially at the University of Phoenix Stadium, but the last time the Cardinals faced Brett Favre, they got run over and I expect this game to be similar.
Record: 7-5
Week 14 (away) - San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers have finally been exposed this year (albeit without Frank Gore) and there's no coach in the league that learns from his mistakes better than Ken Whisenhunt. The Cardinals win this game big.
Record: 8-5
Week 15 (away) - Detroit Lions
An improved Lions team still isn't anywhere near the Cardinals in talent. Kurt Warner will throw for 350 yards before being pulled midway through the 3rd quarter.
Record: 9-5
Week 16 (home) - St. Louis Rams
Record: 10-5
Week 17 (home) - Green Bay Packers
If this late season game was on the frozen tundra of Green Bay, it would be a long shot for a Cardinals team that seams to struggle in the cold, but instead, the fans keep the Cardinals pumped and Arizona keeps it close...but still lose the game. Hopefully, if all goes well, it won't matter because they will have already clinched the division.
Record: 10-6
Finish: 1st Place NFC West
