Although I avoid flying as much as I can, even taking a bus to Canada, I will when necessary. I remember the days when service was important and as the years go on good service seems to be lacking more than abundant. However, I was in for a pleasant surprise on one of my last trips.

For the first time, we flew Mexicana airlines down to Mexico City (if you are referencing another post this week, this was not the airline we took back home that bumped us). It was only a two hour flight so my expectations as far as food and fun go were low. Boarding, we saw no monitors and were sure we were in for two hours of staring at the back of the seat in front of us and dry mouths.

However as soon as the seatbelt sign was off, screens came out of the overhead compartments! We watched an episode of Smallville on free headphones and were offered pillows and blankets too. Sounds good? Then, we were served drinks, even the alcoholic drinks were free of charge and sandwiches and cookies. By the time our dishes were taken up it was pretty much time to land. I hardly noticed the time go by, which for a nervous flyer is an incredible thing. Way to go, Mexicana Airlines. Visit them at www.mexicana.com for more.
