US highway 80, one I frequented while living on the east side of the Metroplex, was apparently the debut coast-to-coast highway in the United States. Held twice a year, the tristate area of Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi where the highway crosses, celebrates by throwing a nearly 400 mile-long stretch of garage sale. If you thought outlet malls or even the infamous Trader's Village were worth seeing, this sale is legendary. Grand Prairie's Main Street will show off their merchandise during the event, ranging from Friday October 16 to October 18th to help support the route as a historic, trade, and tourist industry MVP resource.
