The BBQ and a Game Sunday Crew playing Clue!

Day after day, people sit pondering two F’s, Friends and Fun. I, being one of those people began a search for exactly that here in Houston. There are two things that can bring people together: Food and Games. Food is a natural medium, and games everyone can enjoy. That is why I attended BBQ and a Game last Sunday. The game of Choice, Clue!

If you’ve ever wondered what there is to do in this city, attending something like this can definitely become a highlight of anyone’s week. With nine players, and 3 subs, the game was on. The finger’s were flying and accusations sounded across the courtyard. The only thing to overshadow the energy, was the laughter.

Clue is a great group game, seating up to nine people easily. With nine players though, waiting for your turn becomes a chore. With each person contemplating their moves, making their accusations, and waiting to be proven wrong, it can take some time for your turn to come around. This isn’t without its benefits though. It offers ample time for eating and drinking between turns.

The game can easily be enjoyed by everyone 10+, but keep in mind it does take a bit of attention to draw accurate conclusions and solve the puzzle. However it’s not so overly taxing it ruins the experience. With nine players, the game took about 3 hours from start to finish, but never was there a dull moment. I made five new friends that day, and can’t wait to play with them again next Sunday! The best part of it all, is it’s free! Bring some snack food, your gaming skills, and a laugh and it will be one night well spent in Houston.
