As you may know, (or should know), I wrote an article about Austin’s Coffee a few weeks ago. I had some delicious coffee and surveyed the menu board from my cozy booth. However, I never got to try any food, seeing as I had already eaten and was pretty stuffed. But alas, I finally got to sample some of Austin’s wonderful food last week when I returned.

It will probably take you a while to decide exactly what you want at Austin’s, because the menu has so many unique items and many are vegetarian and vegan. This place is a sandwich lover’s paradise, with thirteen sandwiches, pitas, and wraps on the menu. They also have a great assortment of salads and quiche and of course, many vegan desserts. And they don’t skimp on cake. I’ve seen two customers buy slices of vegan cake at Austin’s – carrot cake and chocolate cake – and neither customer could finish their one slice.

After much thought, I ordered the Opened Face Primavera Sandwich, which came with pasta salad and chips – all for only $7.50. The pasta salad was one of the best I’ve ever had, with a simple, yet irresistible flavor. The sandwich was enormous, stacked high with ever kind of vegetable you can imagine – zucchini, yellow squash, broccoli, carrots, onions, red peppers – and mozzarella cheese with pesto and something called “Spike seasoning,” which was tangy and added a kick to the vegetables. I couldn’t finish the whole thing. It was towering and I was full after eating only one half of the sandwich.

You will definitely get your money’s worth at Austin’s. So, for all you sandwich connoisseurs, try something different today and check out the menu at one of the best coffee shops in Orlando.
