Pets have value in many ways. Some days they are worth more than others. Especially when there is a present left on grandma's antique Turkish rug. We say our dogs have given us hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of smiles and laughter.  How about yours?

Bissell®, the vacuum cleaner people, sponsored their second annual contest to find the Most Valuable Pet in America and have now announced the results. Almost 40,000 people sent in testimonials of devotion to beloved pets.

And the Grand Prize Winner is:

Norman the Golden Retriever. Norman serves a fundamental role for his community, as his puppies are raised to help people with a multitude of disabilities. Norman's pet parent, Tara Driscoll , plans to use the $10,000 prize toward the cost of a seizure dog to assist two special needs children in her community. The usual cost of raising an assiatance puppy is $14,000, so Bissell®  surprised the Driscolls by including an additional $4,000 donation to ensure the two brothers receive the service dog they need.

All five winners will:

• Be featured on a future BISSELL product package (products TBD)
• Receive their choice of four BISSELL pet products
• Choose their favorite pet cause to receive a donation in their name!

There were weekly winners leading up to the finalists. You have to see Lily the pig. So cute!
