If you feel fortunate to have the best dog in the world, you can make your lucky dog a star. Your dog is a scratcher already, so why not make it official and make him famous? Enter your dog for a chance to be featured on an upcoming Virginia Lottery ticket. The pup's picture will be on the Virginia Lucky Dog II scratch ticket.

Contest Dates: You may enter your photos for the contest from April 14 to May 26, 2009.

What you win: Twenty owners will win the contest prize; all 20 winning dogs will be featured on a Virginia’s Lucky Dog II ticket, which goes on sale later this year.

What kind of dogs: Judges will look for high quality digital images of a variety of dogs (purebreds and mutts), all shapes, sizes, colors and textures.

Where does Virginia Lottery money go?

"Since 1999, all Virginia Lottery profits have been used for public education in the Commonwealth. In Fiscal Year 2008, the Virginia Lottery had sales of more than $1.3 billion. Of this total, the Lottery contributed $455.3 million to public education grades K-12."
