DC Dogs just received notice from author Nikki Moustaki that her wildly popular endeavor, Dogfessions®, is conducting a "food raiser" with Nutrish® dog food.
Rachael Ray has pledged to provide up to 3 tons of dog food--one pound of food for each Dogfession postcard received. 100% of Ray's proceeds from Nutrish go to pet rescue.
You may remember from my post last month, that Moustaki created Dogfessions.com, inviting people to send in decorated postcards of dog secrets. Moustaki complied some of the entries into a book entilted Dogfessions-Secret confessions from dogs. Confessions range from hilarious to heartbreaking. Moustaki even reveals that she is a dog trainer with naughty dogs. Moustaki is also host of the MSN show: Celebrity Pet Dish.
The Nutrish donated kibble will go to: Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, Utah, and Sabbath Memorial Dog Rescue in Miami, Florida. Best Friends takes in many homeless pets and Sabbath provides medical care to needy dogs.
"The goal for this "food raiser" is 6,000 creative postcards which will equal 6000 pounds of dog food for homeless dogs," said Moustaki.

***The kibble donation will count for four of Moustaki's dog-related sites. Nutrish will also be offering prizes for the most creative cards received each month. Directions on how to create and submit the postcards can be found at the following:
Let's send tons of kibble to needy dogs! Get a photo of your dog, decorate it, write your dogfession on it, and snail mail it to Moustaki. You have until April 24 to submit your Dogfession. What an amazing Valentine's Day gift for so many dogs!
DC Dogs Dogfession? I have whispered in my dog's ear, "Someday you will break my heart."
