My Pet Shop, the video game, sees players taking charge of a pet shop and leading it to success. The game is aimed at younger audiences .
STORY: You have just moved from the hustle and bustle of the big city to Green Town, a quiet town filled with nature. Help your mom run her pet shop and learn to take care of all kinds of animals as you become friends with the other kids in town. But beware, as you search for animals on the outskirts of town; watch out for bees waiting to sting and snakes waiting to bite.
General features of game:
*Catch over 40 different animals, ranging from golden retrievers and calico cats to pandas and penguins.
*Care for and interact with your pets.
*Save your allowance to shop in town and buy outfits for your pets.
*Play mini-games like races, obstacle courses with your pets.
"My Pet Shop is our first game to be launched solely at a younger gaming audience. There is a huge appetite for good quality games that younger gamers can relate to. With its engaging storyline and enjoyable gameplay elements, we're optimistic My Pet Shop will be well received over here," said John Yamamoto, president of Square Enix.
The official North America launch date is March 10, 2009, according to the announcement from TAITO, the Japanese manufacturer.
My Pet Shop is rated E (Everyone) by the ESRB. Visit the Entertainment Software Rating Board website ESRB for more information about ratings. My Pet Shop will be available at North American retailers for the suggested retail price of $29.99 (USD).
