Do you have more pictures of your dog sleeping than of your kids?  Do you call the family into the room if the dog is doing something cute?  Then you should share the love of that pet with the world.  And potentially win a prize.

The DC Dogs Examiner just received a press release from founder, Jo Jo Harder, of America's Top Dog Model® contest.  This is a nationwide search for "top dogs" with style.  The contest officially began January 9, 2009 and ends May 22, 2009.

The theme for this year's contest is "Go Gorgeously Green."

"America will find out that going green does not apply only to people. Dog owners along with their pets can contribute to help save the planet we all share," stated Harder.

There are many prizes for the winner and runners-up including a magazine cover and feature story, organic accessories, calendar feature, and much more.

"Together, dogs and their owners can help make a difference as we face the central issue of the 21st century: “Sustainability!" noted Harder.
