December 3rd is National Roof Over Your Head Day.   It is a day of appreciation for the things we have, starting with the roof over our heads.

For most of us, a roof over our head signifies living in an abode that protects us from the elements, keeping us warm and cozy.  Unfortunately, not everyone or every animal has this advantage.  There are many homeless people and pets worldwide.  You may have passed a few already today.

Spend a few minutes appreciating your roof and home today.

If you would like to make a contribution to homeless people or animals, I have assembled a list below for your consideration.  Some do not even require money.  Just take a quiz and you can provide a meal to a needy person or pet.

Happy National Roof Over Your Head Day!

Places to contribute:

Freekibble.com  - Organization started by twelve year old Mimi Ausland to feed hungry animals in shelters.

Freerice.com -  Same concept as Freekibble, only you are giving rice grains by answering questions.  Yes, this is for real.

ArtAnimals.org - Improving the lives of Companion Animals.

Washington Animal Rescue League -  This is an amazing place.  You should visit just to see the “rain” rooms which were built to help keep the animals calm.

Washington Humane Society  Good Home Guarantee- Humane Society's 5 -year plan to reach 100% placemet for adoptable animals.

Luther Place Night Shelter - A womens' shelter for up to 31 clients
