In an effort to keep non-ticketed fans away from the Los Angeles' Staples Center, Michael Jackson’s memorial service will not be broadcast live outside of the venue as was originally stated. Organizers (and local police) are urging those without tickets, to stay away from the area and watch the service from home.
It won’t be hard to find live coverage of the Jackson’s memorial; in fact it may be harder to find a station not covering it! The list covering the network’s plans (with reporting anchors) is listed below: updates will be made if any changes are announced.
ABC (Charles Gibson),
CNN, CNN en Espanol and CNN International (Anderson Cooper)
E! Entertainment (network & website)
FOX and Fox Cable (Shepard Smith / Megyn Kelly)
HLN (Robin Meade, A.J. Hammer and Jane Velez-Mitchell)
MSNBC (Chris Jansing)
MTV
NBC
VH1 and VH1 Classic
All plan on setting their regular daytime programming aside to cover the Michael Jackson memorial service live beginning at 10 am PDT on Tuesday July 7.
CBS ~ Katie Couric will be at Staples but the network has not yet announced how/when they plan on covering the service.
