Shrimp when rescued

and six months later

In April last year a little dog named 'Shrimp' made his television debut on the Oprah Winfrey Show during her expose on puppy mills. Bill Smith from Main Line Animal Rescue brought Shrimp on stage after a large 'before' picture was shown behind the set. Thank goodness he did because the 'before' picture was so disturbing to not have seen a happy ending would have been intolerable.

Sadly for his humans, Shrimp has crossed the 'Rainbow Bridge' this past Wednesday, February 11th. They say 'a picture is worth a thousand words'… Shrimp (so aptly named because his skin was literally peeling when he was rescued) made the indelible impression upon the world about the inhumane suffering going on in Pennsylvania's puppy mills.

Pennsylvanians - in honor of Shrimp and all the other Pennsylvania puppy mill dogs still lingering on the brink of life, here is a chance to do something constructive to help these innocent creatures. Print out the poster with Shrimp's 'before' and 'after' photos and send it to your legislators.

It is not known why Shrimp's condition was never reported by state inspectors who for years walked by the cage where he lived. Shrimp did eventually get his happy ending but if you would like to see other dogs free from puppy mill abuses take the few minutes it requires and print out a poster of Shrimp and send it to your legislators asking for their intervention on behalf of dogs like Shrimp.

Thank you!

Send Shrimp's photos to your state representative and senator click here then scroll to bottom of page for a print out.
