On Sunday, October 11 Focus on Homeless Animals (FOHA) will sponsor their second annual 'Yappy Hour' at Washington Crossing Inn for area dogs and their humans. Last year's event was such a joyful time it has become an annual occasion.
Washington Crossing Inn is located at 1295 General Washington Memorial Boulevard in Washington Crossing, PA. Lots of festivities are planned like contests for the scariest, most unique and silliest dog Halloween costume.
A caricature artist will be there to capture you and your fur kid for posterity as well as professional dog trainer, Bob from Bob's Pet Stop who will teach simple commands for those in need. Other contests like guessing how many dog bones are in a jar will garner a prize for who gets the closest.
All in all it looks to be a grand day out to socialize with both humans and dogs so, bring Fido and Fluffy and join in on the fun. Food is being generously provided courtesy of The Washington Crossing Inn so leash those pups and jump in your car and find your way to Yappy Hour… Sunday, October 11th from noon to 4 p.m. Every good doggie goes home with a doggie goodie bag.
Other contests include "dog with the longest tongue" (I should bring Avatar – he'd win paws down), "dog with the longest tail" (does it count if it's curly?) and the ever popular and hilarious "owner who looks most like their dog!"
FOHA is a 501(c) non-profit animal rescue organization run by Gloria Aceti in Washington Crossing, Pennsylvania. Aceti has been involved formally in animal rescue for over a decade. She is a caring animal advocate who can't seem to make herself say "no" to any animal in need.
Don't forget this is for a good cause – homeless animals. FOHA needs to raise funds for costs of vaccinations, spay/neuter, veterinarian exams, heartworm/Lyme tests, leukemia/aids tests, boarding fees, and medical crisis intervention. Additionally, FOHA has a mission to build a no-kill shelter and fundraising for it is an ongoing goal.
Mark your calendars… Sunday, October 11, noon to 4 p.m. Yappy Hour at Washington Crossing Inn (Bucks County, PA) – be there!
