Joe, say it isn't so!
With the news yesterday our vice president-elect bought an adorable German shepherd puppy I have to ask - "why?" How can he not be aware of all those beautiful creatures waiting for a forever home? Purebreds can be found in shelters and rescue groups and yes, even purebred puppies.
Most disturbing of all is Vice President elect Biden bought his puppy from a commercial breeder. Not just any commercial breeder – a Pennsylvania commercial breeder. Pennsylvania has the horrendous reputation of having the worst puppy mills in the country. Did you see Oprah's expose on the Pennsylvania puppy mills? The film was NOT fabricated.
JoLindy, the breeder Biden bought his puppy from looked great on the 4:00 news, clean, lots of earth for the pups to play and run around. The JoLindy web site even espouses the fact it has two pools for dogs to exercise in! I like that.
Most may not be aware this breeder also has a licensed K5 Pennsylvania breeding kennel called Wolf Den. For those not familiar with Pennsylvania's laws a K5 Pennsylvania license allows breeders to house and breed in excess of 250 dogs and is commonly held by facilities referred to as puppy mills.
