According to a eurogamer spanish site, Sony is already at work with the PSP2, not the PSPgo, but a true successor to the PSP. According to the site, the PSP2 would be similar in power to the original Xbox and also share some of the Dreamcast elements.
The article also mentions that the graphics processor is going to be based in a version of the multicore SGX543 from imagination technologies, the same providers of the graphics chip for the iPhone. According to the website the chip, codename Hydra, will be a quad core processor and will calculate up to 133 million polygons per second - which surpasses the original Xbox, and will support open GL 2.0 and DX10.
Of course, this is just a rumor, but imaging that kind of power in your hands with maybe dual analogs and touch screen! I'm getting ahead of myself here, and Sony said that “we do not comment on rumor and speculations”, but it sure sounds good, maybe too good to be true.
