The animals of the rain forest are not far way. In fact you can catch them all under the roof of one unique East Tennessee attraction.
Lined with restaurants, outlet shops, a theater and a hotel, Governor's Crossing in Sevierville may not seem like a place where you'll find lemurs, porcupines, or kangaroos. However, one of the big attractions in this Smoky Mountain development is Rainforest Adventures.
Opened in June of 2001, Rainforest Adventures has wowed more than half-a-million people. Inside the 15,000 square foot building you'll find hundreds of different animals representing the rainforests of the world including kinkajous, servals, coatimundis, and sugar gliders.
In 2008, the 17,000 square foot Aussie Walkabout opened at Rainforest Adventures. This addition features red kangaroos, ostriches, and sheep you can feed and pet.
Each animal exhibit rivals what you would see at a major zoo or even at Disney's Animal Kingdom. There are many places at Rainforest Adventures to learn more about the animals including an interactive Animal show each day.
Bill Lucey, a man who built his career in retail had always wanted to work with animals. "I really want to do something I have a passion about," he said. Rainforest Adventures is his dream come true, one he wants to share with you.
Admission to Rainforest Adventures is just $11.99 for adults and $6.99 for children with discount coupons available throughout the area and online www.rfadventures.com/RainForest%20Coupon.htm.
