...and they are getting worse. Although the job market is expected to pick up next year, we are seeing a record breaking increase in the unemployment rate. It is hard to imagine being able to travel at a time like this. Many companies are throwing out what seem to be great deals. I disagree. I have not been able to travel much this year but I keep up with the deals being offered. It's disappointing that the so-called "great" deals offered right now are not much less than a few years ago. Expedia, Travelocity, Priceline are all about the same give or take a few hundred dollars. Better deals can be found on applevacations.com or cheapcaribbean.com but still not enough to say "I GOTTA take this trip. It's too good not to pass up."
One company that MIGHT be on board with the huge economic downturn is Caribbean Cruise Line. They are selling cruises to the Bahamas for $99 a person. I listened to their spill because, hey, Carmen Electra is endorsing it. So, it has to be legit, right? Of course, they did try to sell me other vacations for a discount and of course, I became irritated. I ended the call but they continued to call me. When I finally decided to talk to them they only wanted me to confirm a cruise for $99 that I could use anytime in 18 months time. I asked at several different points in the conversation what other costs were involved. They kept assuring me that there were none. They are simply trying to promote their cruise line via word of mouth. I decided not to buy any but I am very curious if they really are legit. I would love some feedback.
