Whitney Houston: New single shows very little strength

Everybody is cheering for Whitney Houston. However, when listening to the new single,“I Didn’t Know My Own Strength,” one can keep thinking of the word “cliché.” The voice is there – thanks possibly to studio trickery – but something seems to be missing.
It is quite possible that nothing is missing, but the song sounds like all of her other songs condensed into one. We know Whitney Houston does not write her own songs, but the old Whitney would have had the creative control to not record this song. Maybe we just need another couple listens?
