Susan Boyle Effect losing its touch

Simon Cowell predicted that America's Got Talent ratings would see a boost because of the Britain's Got Talent Susan Boyle phenomenon seen over the past few months. Many entertainment insiders agreed. An average of 11.3 million viewers tuned in to the two-hour premiere. The number isn’t bad, but it’s a twelve percent dip compared with last year’s show opener.

Can you imagine if Susan Boyle actually made an appearance on the show? The ratings would have certainly been a lot better. But some people believe that the Susan Boyle phenomenon has turned downward over the past month due to her mental hospital shenanigans.
