On October 30th, John Burroughs High School Instrumental Music Association (JBHS-IMA) will present its first annual “Halloween Concert and Instrument Petting Zoo.” Guests will be treated to a selection of Halloween songs performed by the JBHS marching band, plus a performance of Media City Youth Ballet’s “The Cat and the Witch.” The event also features great prizes, goodie bags, and a chance for kids to learn about the instruments used in the performance.
Tickets are $5 per first child, which includes one free adult admission. Additional children’s tickets are just $3 each, with the same accompanying adult. Every child’s ticket is automatically entered into a drawing for one of two grand prizes: a four-pack of one-day Park Hopper tickets to Disneyland Resort, or an Ultrazone Laser Tag party for up to 15 kids! To purchase advance tickets via PayPal, e-mail JBHS_band@yahoo.com and you will be sent an invoice. Tickets will also be available at the door on the day of the show.
The concert will be held from 4:00-5:00 p.m. on the John Burroughs High School campus, located at 1920 West Clark Avenue. Guests will enter on Keystone Street, south of Clark, and follow the balloons to the interior quad. Due to limited seating, guests should bring their own chair or blanket for the performance.
Every child will receive a free bag of treats, and additional concessions will be available for purchase. All proceeds from the event benefit JBHS-IMA, so come out and support the program, enjoy the music and pet some instruments...but beware the trombones -- I hear they’re the scariest instrument of all!
