The conflicting stories are enough to confound the most avid reader, how much more the authorities. It is most likely not good to be a part of nontruths, however, when a story is the magnitude of Michael Jackson's death, the grapevine extends the globe.
The latest according to vast news media is that there was no Demerol or OxyContin. Dr. Murray's lawyer, Mr Chernoff, with him at questioning, denied that Dr. Murray gave Michael Jackson any of these drugs.
So what did Murray give him, and who stayed with him as first reported if Murray found him not breathing? Still as a British doctor was reported as saying that if it was Demerol an antidote might have saved him.
The toxicology report is going to open or close pandora's box.
The former nanny, Grace Rwaramba, is mentioned as describing some of Jackson's addiction; and it is also reported that the family has hired L. Londell McMillan, Michael Jackson's former civil lawyer for the July 2005, $40 million to $48 million breech of contract suit, evolving to an undisclosed out of court settlement, to help with the aftermath regarding the assets and family custody. Michael Jackson had just been acquitted the month before, June 2005 of the sex abuse charges.
This Jun 19, 2007, article mentions a point of economic interest:
"A default last year by Jackson would have allowed Fortress to seize his interest in the Beatles catalogue, valued at some $500 million....
Jackson told Reuters the settlement with Prescient means that the archive of music publishing rights would remain "safe and sound."
Michael Jackson was also a philanthropist. Michael Jackson, in a photo, hugs former South African President Nelson Mandela, left, in Pretoria, South Africa, Saturday, July 20, 1996. He gave millions to South Africa among his many contributions.
It has been four days now; if you missed the BET awards, hopes of gathered news and audio visual of the event may follow. AP mentions:
Joe Jackson, Michael's father, walked on the red carpet wearing a black hat, sunglasses and a dark suit. He did not appear on stage during the show.
A tearful Janet Jackson appeared on stage in a white dress at the end of the BET awards. After a long pause to gather herself, she spoke haltingly but deliberately to the audience.
"I'd just like to say that to you, Michael is an icon. To us, Michael is family. And he will forever live in all of our hearts," she said.
Also in AP:
Al Sharpton planned to visit the Jackson compound Monday and would talk with the family about how to memorialize the late pop star. Sharpton said they want to hold memorials in key cities around the globe and also planned a memorial service Tuesday at the Apollo Theater in New York.
