Jerry Moyes is no longer the owner of the Phoenix Coyotes.
Yesterday, the National Hockey League closed on it’s $140 million purchase of the hockey club. Today, the final papers were signed off on, as the six month bankruptcy saga comes to an end.
With the bankruptcy portion done, the NHL can now turn it’s attention to finding a new owner of the team. The league’s preference is to find a new owner who will keep the team in the Valley.
In a statement, NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly told Coyotes fans, “The NHL thanks Coyotes fans for their continued support for the franchise and hopes that today’s [Monday’s] deveopments will provide fans further reason to embrace the Coyotes in order to ensure the team’s long-term future in Arizona.”

Bryzgalov earns more honors
Coyotes goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov was named the NHL’s Third Star for the month of October on Monday.
Bryzgalov finished the month with an 8-3 record. He posted a 1.78 goals against average, a .930 save percentage with three shutouts.
Washington Capitals forward Alex Ovechkin was named the Second Star, while goaltender Craig Anderson was named the First Star.
Wisniewski suspended
Anaheim Ducks defenseman James Wisniewski was suspended for two games on Monday for his forearm hit to Shane Doan in Saturday’s 3-2 shootout victory.
The hit took place with 7:12 left in the first period. Wisniewski did not receive a penalty for the incident.
Wisniewski will also forfeit over $28,000 in salary and will be eligible to return this upcoming Saturday when the Coyotes take on the Ducks at the Honda Center in Anaheim.

Rampage report
The Coyotes recalled forward Mikkel Boedker today from their AHL affiliate in San Antonio.
Boedker started the season in Phoenix, but in seven games with the Rampage, he has scored a goal and three assists for four points. He has played in 83 career NHL games, scoring 11 goals and 17 assists for 28 points and 18 penalty minutes.
Right now, the Rampage are lead on offense by Kyle Turris, who has four goals and six assists for 10 points and 12 penalty minutes through 12 games this season.
San Antonio is currently on a four game losing streak, and most recently got shutout 3-0 by the Texas Stars.
The Rampage will be back in action again on Wednesday night to take on the IceHogs in Rockford.
