Nielsen Ratings, most known among consumers for the tracking of television shows, branches out it's services into the video game usage tracking.
The most recent statistics show the continued dominance of the current generation of consoles by the Xbox 360 (with a 21.1% usage minutes). The Wii and Playstation 3 come in third and fourth places with 17.6% and 10.5% respectively.
The statistics for the previous generation of consoles is not as kind to both Microsoft's Xbox consoles. Being used much less than the Playstation 2, which has a 21.6% showing, ranking the system the most played console for the month of April.
With online gaming constantly on the rise, it should be no suprise to see the Xbox 360 finally take over the number one spot from the Playstation 2. The amazing ten year life cycle of the PS2 will be coming to an end next year, however Sony shows no signs of dropping support for the system.
