Who's afraid of the big bad wolf? Certainly not the Washington Animal Rescue League (WARL), who is holding a 4th of July adoption event at The Big Bad Wolf pet store in Washington, DC.
Describing themselves as a "community resource for companion animals and their guardians," The Big Bad Wolf is dedicated to "sustainable business practices including seeking out and carrying the best in eco-friendly pet supplies, Fair trade items, and merchandise sourced from local and North American companies, with preference given to small manufacturers and minority owned companies."
If the news of pet adoptions at an eco-friendly pet store wasn't good enough, fellow Examiner Lisa Marie Ordakowski wrote in her column a little over a week ago that all cat or kitten adoptions that take place through WARL from June-September will be free of adoption fees. That means you'll have more money to spend on getting your new feline companion suited to their new home.
While not everyone is able to welcome a new pet into their home at this point in time, there's no shortage of lovable pets who are waiting to be adopted. Please consider stopping by the Big Bad Wolf on the 4th if you have time.
