Vintage Classic
Not all trends shown to home décor buyers at the High Point homefurnishings trade show were forward thinking; some exhibited retro influences calling on us to relive the 1920’s – 1950’s. Where the contemporary furnishings mentioned in my previous article are simple, clean and minimalist, the vintage décor trend is just the opposite. Curved mirror frames, sculpted chair arms, richly finished woods and metallic gold leaf accents hint at a more decadent time.

Victorian slipper chairs, bright fabrics, classic loveseats, wood skirted tables, tassels and braided trim, crystal chandeliers and lamps with gilded finials are examples of this trend.
