There is standup available in all the clubs tonight, with some showcases at Giggles Comedy Club and Laughs Comedy Spot, with James Inman headlining the underground. If you’re in Ballard tonight and want some really cheap entertainment, Lo-Ball is doing their patriotic themed show with some of the comedians in costume and doing themed pieces. The line up tonight includes Derek Sheen, Jessica Strauss, Ross Parsons, and Dartanion London, something of an internet sensation.

The featured performers, however, are the trio that makes up the air-metal band Airpocalypse. Winners of the 2009 Stranger Gong show, they have performed at Laff Hole and other shows, and electrified the crowd. Their short sets garner audience enthusiasm, as they effortlessly trade off on “instruments” and switch songs quickly, complete with wicked guitar solos. Audiences have gone nuts when they do their “Transformers” theme song rendition. (The tune from the cartoon, not the movie, although I’m not sure if the guitar solos were in there before)
The show is at 11:00PM at Live Girls Theater. Tickets are five bucks. Here’s a clip of Airpocalypse.
