Curaçao, a small Dutch island in the southern Caribbean Sea, just off the South American coast, offers seasoned travelers a unique vacation experience. While larger and more populous than its nearby neighbors, Aruba and Bonaire, Curaçao still retains the unspoiled charm of an exclusive island. Its blend of European and African heritage provide for a rich, diverse culture. Plus, the island boasts an impressive array of hiking trails, caves and renowned coral reefs. Curaçao's capital city, Willemstad, is one of the Caribbean’s few UNESCO World Heritage sites.

Despite being part of the Lesser Antilles, Curaçao's location provides for a worry-free fall getaway as it is mostly outside of the hurricane belt of the Caribbean. A hurricane has not made landfall on Curaçao since the National Hurricane Center began tracking hurricanes. The Caribbean Hurricane Network shows that from 1851 through the present,  only 5 hurricanes have come within 60 nautical miles of Curaçao. Pretty good odds for a island vacation.

Now, both American and Insel Air offer daily, direct flights from Miami to Curaçao. And the luxurious Hotel Kura Hulanda Spa & Casino and Lodge Kura Hulanda & Beach Club are offering Florida residents a long weekend getaway package for 40% off the regular price.

The Hotel Kura Hulanda, built around restored 18th century Dutch colonial buildings, features a spa, a museum, an eco pool, a casino, a variety of restaurants, and a prime location in the Willemstad city center. While the Lodge Kura Hulanda, set on 350 acres amidst cliffs, gardens and white sand beaches, provides a more tranquil beach retreat for the guests of its 74 secluded rooms and villas.

Florida residents seeking a combination of two unique vacation experiences can receive two nights accommodations at Hotel Kura Hulanda, three nights accommodations at the Lodge Kura Hulanda, a $200 food/drink credit, a $200 airfare credit and a complimentary bottle of champagne for only $730 per person. To book this offer, call 1-877-264-3106 or e-mail reservations@kurahulanda.com and request the “Florida Residents” package.
