Just before the bridge to Captiva Island lies a charming waterfront resort offering the perfect balance of casual luxury and sophisticated relaxation. The Sanibel Harbour Resort & Spa, a peaceful family-friendly property set on an 85-acre peninsula overlooking Sanibel and Captiva Islands, provides an easy and gently-priced getaway from Miami.

This often-overlooked destination, nestled gulf-side between Naples and Captiva, exudes serenity while keeping guests entertained. Weekend visitors need not leave the property for recreation or dining as the resort includes a licensed fishing pier, a full service spa, kayak rentals to explore the colorful mangrove-laden canals, and six dining options. For fitness needs, guests can use the heated indoor exercise pool, outdoor basketball court, tennis courts, or the Pilates/Yoga studio with daily classes. Bring the kids on a dolphin watching tour or an eco-nature catamaran cruise. Additionally, Kids Club activities are offered Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Guests can select traditional hotel rooms with views of the Gulf for enjoying captivating sunsets on the west-facing balconies or two-bedroom waterfront condominiums featuring large screened lanais overlooking the bay.

For food at sea, say 'bon voyage' and set sail on the resort's 100-foot private yacht. This relaxing dining cruise is offered for dinner or Sunday brunch. Indoor and outdoor seating options are available for you to eat in comfort while taking in the calming aquatic views.

This fall, the resort is offering an "Undercovers" package for $159/night. Breakfast for two is included with the room rate.

While the resort is just 150 miles from Miami, the renowned hospitality makes guests feel far from home. Just don't expect stuffy, modern and chic. The comfortable yet elegant ambiance blends an affordable upscale resort with the calming and natural atmosphere of Florida's southwest Gulf Coast.
