President Barack Obama sent our First Lady and Oprah Winfrey to Copenhagen to lobby for the Olympics to come to Chicago. This way he could have a triumphant 2016 celebration when he finishes his second term.
Chicago was eliminated in the first round of voting. Dead last. There were audible gasps and cries of disappointment, but there was also applause. Why would anyone applaud America's humiliation when we are lead by the superstar President Obama? We even sent Oprah over there. First Lady Michelle Obama told us of the "sacrifice" she was making for us.
They applaud and cheer for our defeat because that is what the Party of Barack Obama has taught them to do. At every turn for the last decade, the American left has insisted that the United States of America was an imperialist power who tortures Muslims and strong arms tiny countries into illicit deals so we can rape them of their resources. We support Israel, something our current President does with great reluctance, being tougher on the Israelis than he is on actual terrorist states. He goes before the U.N., chastises Israel and apologizes for Americas strength. He was mocked by the French President for his performance.
Comedians like Bill Maher have constantly banged the drum that America is no longer #1 and that our people are stupid, superstitious and bloodthirsty. The media at large has played into these myths, they explode before us on the big screen and book after book tells us what a criminal, corrupt and selfish country the United States is. Now, instead of just being a cheap vehicle to criticize your opponents so the MTV crowd will vote for you, the world at large has come to believe this anti-American propaganda that we have inflicted on ourselves.
Why would any governing body reward a nation full of such self-loathing with the prestige of an Olympic games? In this moment when our President was defeated and our nation humbled, we should consider the image of America we want to present to the world.
