James Bond and the Wolverine are staging a takeover of the New York theater scene this fall. Prepare for the one-two punch of Daniel Craig and Hugh Jackman as they raise the curtain on the Broadway production "A Steady Rain" this September.
Playbill.com is reporting that Daniel Craig and Hugh Jackman have been confirmed to star in the two-character drama penned by Keith Huff, which is scheduled to begin previews on September 10th at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre in New York.
Directed by Tony Award nominee John Crowley, "A Steady Rain" will run for a limited 12-week schedule ending December 6th. Opening night has been set for September 29th.
Press notes for "A Steady Rain" describe the production as "a new American play that tells the story of two Chicago cops who are lifelong friends and their differing accounts of a few harrowing days that changed their lives forever."
Craig is making his Broadway debut in the play, while Jackman returns to the New York stage for the first time since his Tony-winning performance in the musical "The Boy from Oz" in 2004.
Tickets — priced $66.50-$130 (with $31.50 student tix) — will go on sale exclusively to American Express cardholders July 11 at 8 AM ET and to the general public July 25 at 12:01 AM ET.
Show times will be Tuesday at 7 PM, Wednesday-Saturday at 8 PM with matinees Wednesday and Saturday at 2 PM and Sunday at 3 PM.
The Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre is located in Manhattan at 236 West 45th Street.
