Comedy has a new queen as "The Proposal" breaks out of the pack to depose "The Hangover" as the nation's top film at the box office. "Up" edges closer to become the year's top grossing film, while "Year One" settles for fourth place in a hot Personalities Match-Up for the Weekend Final Five.

Audiences found much to enjoy watching Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds work out "The Proposal," making it the top film of the Weekend Final Five. Earning $34.1 million from 3,056 theaters, it is the best opening of Bullock’s career as comedy continues to rule the box office roost.
In the battle of the holdovers, "The Hangover" and "Up" staved off "Year One" during the course of the weekend.
The reigning champ for two weeks straight, “Hangover” continued to hold on to its popularity, dipping a mere 18% in its third weekend of play. The raucous R-rated comedy earned another $26.9 million from 3,545 theaters, bringing it up to a jackpot of $152.9 million.
Disney-Pixar’s “Up” also held well, dropping 31% in its fourth session with $21.3 million from 3,832 theaters for a stellar total of $224.1 million, edging closer to surpassing “Star Trek” as the year’s top grossing film.
The comedy stylings of Jack Black and Michael Cera in "Year One" debuted in fourth place with $20.2 million from 3,022 runs.
Rounding out the Weekend Final Five was the dramatic action of Denzel Washington & John Travolta in "The Taking of Pelham 123," whicn nabbed another $11.3 million from 3,077 stations, increasing its haul to $43.3 million as it enters its second week.
