Joel and Ethan Coen, who may be courting more Oscar glory this year with their latest film "A Serious Man," are already looking ahead to their next project: a remake of the iconic John Wayne western "True Grit." And who is at the top of their list to take on one of the Duke's most prized projects? Matt Damon and Josh Brolin, of course.  The Coens' have already signed on Jeff Bridges to portray U.S. Marshal Rooster Cogburn, which provided Wayne with his only Oscar. Should Brolin sign on to reteam with the "No Country for Old Men" duo, he will take on the villanous role of a murderer pursued by Cogburn. Damon, who would star in his first Coen epic, is discussing the role of a lawman who teams with Cogburn on the case.

And, speaking of remakes. Word on the Hollywood beat is the 1980s cult classic "Short Circuit" is being rewired for a new screen adventure. Director Steve Carr ("Paul Blart: Mall Cop") has signed on to helm the project. Before the Peanut Gallery utters a word, fans must know that the screenplay has been penned by Dan Milano of "Robot Chicken" fame.

No. 5 is alive...again!
