Before I head out tonight for the midnight showing of Twilight (!!!!) I am going to the open house and cocktail party for a new event space that is opening up downtown called Flat 151. I am going with my co-worker for work purposes to check it out for event space, but I believe that they do private parties as well.
Either way, it is cool that a modern space like this is opening up for events. Detroit's been such a hub for film crews lately that I am not even surprised anymore when I see them filming near my Greektown office. Maybe this space will turn into the new must-have space and bring more people downtown. Maybe.
My camera hasn't been working ever since I spilled water on it (go figure) but I'll try and get some good pictures of the space tonight.
I'm not sure if this event is open to the public and I'm posting this last minute; but if it looks like something you may still be able to RSVP for. Otherwise, keep an eye out for them if you are planning any big events soon, including weddings.
